In order to ship product into the United States, growers and shippers must comply with the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI). The PTI milestones require brand owners to submit their GTINs to their buyers now (by Q3 2009) and to provide case labeling in Q3 of 2010. Prominent retailers have confirmed that they expect their suppliers to be on schedule to meet the PTI milestone dates. In this one-day seminar you will learn the details about PTI and becoming PTI Compliant.
At the symposium, we will also discuss PTI approaches for hothouse products and shed-packed products, including tomatoes and peppers. For more details on the PTI milestones, go to www.producetraceability.org.
Guest Speakers:
Our special guest speaker will be Jane Proctor, Vice President, Policy and Issue Management for the Canadian Produce Marketing Association.
